Creation of the Heaven and the Earth

In how many days the Heaven and the Earth were created?

As explained in Surah An-Noor, Verse 35:

"Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (i.e neither it gets sun-rays only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to the sun all day long), whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, Allah is All-Knower of everything."

Name of Allah out of 99 names is Al-Noor.

Among the many verses that describe the creation of the earth taking place in six days are:

1. Surah Al-A'raaf, Verse 54:

Your Lord is Allah, who created the Heavens and the Earth in six days and then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly and (He created) the Sun, the Moon, the Stars subjected to His command. Surely, His is the creation and commandment. Blessed be Allah (SWT), the Lord of the 'Alamin.

2. Surah Yunus, Verse 3:

Surely, your Lord is Allah who created the Heavens and the Earth in six days and then rose over the Throne disposing the affairs of all things.

3. Surah Hud, Verse 7:

And He it is Who has created the Heavens and the Earth in six days and His Throne was on the water, that He might try you, which of you is the best in deeds. But if you were to say to them: "You shall indeed be raised up after death," those who disbelieve would be sure to say, " This is nothing but obvious magic."

4. Surah Al-Furqaan, Verse 59:

Who created the Heavens and the Earth and all that is between them in six days. Then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). The Most Beneficent (Allah)! Ask Him (O Prophet Muhammed SAW), (concerning His Qualities, His rising over His Throne , His creations, etc), as He is Al-Khabir  (The All Knower of everything i.e. Allah)

5. Surah As-Sajda, Verse 4:

Allah, it is He Who has created the Heavens and the Earth, and all that is between them in six days. Then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). You (mankind) have none, besides Him, as a Wali (protector or helper etc.) or an intercessor. Will you not them remember (or be admonished)?

6. Surah Qaaf, Verse 38:

And indeed We created the Heavens and the Earth and all between them in six days and nothing of fatigue touched Us.

7. Surah Al-Hadid, Verse 4:

He it is Who created the Heavens and the Earth in six days and the  Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes  into the Earth and what comes forth from it, what descends from the Heaven and what ascends thereto. And He is with you (by His knowledge) wheresoever you may be. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.

"It is He who starts the process of creation: then will repeat it; and this is easy for Him."

Prophet (PBUH) said , "First of all, there was nothing but Allah, and (then He created His Throne). His throne was over the water and He wrote everything in the book (in the Heaven) and created Heavens and the Earth."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol.4 Book 54 Hadith No. 414 & 416

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA) : Allah's Apostle (PBUH) said, "When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne", "My Mercy overpowers My Anger."

Allah has created the Jinn before Adam.

According to Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 26 & 27:

"And indeed , We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.

And the Jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire."

"Angels have been created from light, Jinn have been created from fire without smoke and Adam has been created from what was described for you (dust)."

As explained in Surah Al- Hijr, Verse 29:

"So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into Adam the soul which I (Allah) created for him then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him."

Allah The Almighty revealed:

Remember when your Lord said to the Angels " Verily, I am going to place mankind generations after generations on Earth."

They said: "Will you place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, while we glorify You with praises and thanks and sanctify You."

Allah said : " I know that which you do not know."

Allah taught Adam all the names of everything, then he showed him to the Angels and said : " Tell me the names of these if you are truthful."

They (Angels) said : " Glory be You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Verily, It is You , The All-Knower , The All -Wise."

He said : " O Adam! Inform them of their names" and when he had informed them of their names, He said: " Did I not tell you that I know the unseen in the Heavens and the Earth and I know what you reveal and what you have been hiding."

Remember when We said to the Angels: " Prostate yourselves before Adam."

As explained in Surah Al- Hijr, Verse 30-35:

"So the Angels prostrated themselves, all of them together."

"Except Iblis(Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators."

Allah asked : "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among the prostrators ?"

Iblis said: " I am not the one to prostate myself to a human being whom You (Allah) created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud."

Allah said: "Then get out from here, for verily you are Rajim (a cursed one)."

"And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Resurrection."

Iblis said: "O my Lord! Because you have sent me astray, surely I will sit and wait against them (human being) on Your straight path."

"I will come to them from before them, behind them, from there right and from there left You will not find most of them as thankful one. They will not be dutiful to You."

Allah said : "Get out Paradise, disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them(mankind) will follow you, then surely I will fill Hell with you all."

The Prophet (PBUH) says in Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol. 4,  Book 45, Hadith No. 543:

Allah created Adam making him 60 cubits (90 feet) tall.

He said to Adam: "Go and greet that group of Angels and listen to there reply, for it will be your greetings and the greetings (Salutation) of your offspring."

So Adam said to the Angels "Assalam-u-Alaikum" (Peace Be Upon You).

Angels said "As-Salamu 'Alaika Wa Rahmatu-l-lahi" (Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you).

Success comes from Allah (SWT) and He knows the best.
